What is retinal photography?

Retinal Photography is the capturing of real time, high resolution images of your retina. In 2025 we added the Eidon Wide Field camera to the technology we have in the Tauranga practice allowing digital documentation of the peripheral retina.

• Retinal photography serves as a diagnostic and screening tool when we look at your eyes
• As well as documenting any changes, retinal photography is especially relevant for glaucoma screening, macula degeneration and deterioration due to diabetes
